PRSA Chicago Honors Best in Public Relations at 2013 Skyline Awards

CHICAGO (June 14, 2013) — The Public Relations Society of America Chicago Chapter (PRSA Chicago) honored the best in Chicago public relations at its annual PRSA Chicago Skyline Awards Gala at the Chicago Hilton last night. Each year, the Skyline Awards recognizes the best communications practitioners, campaigns and tactics in the Chicagoland area.

MSLGROUP and Zurich Insurance took home the night’s top honors, winning the Best of Skylines designation for “100 Years Insuring America.”

PRSA Chicago also honored 3 individuals whose achievements and contributions to the field of public relations have stood out during the last year.

  • Steven H. Lesnik, Chairman and Former Interim CEO of Career Education Corporation, Founder of KemperLesnik was recognized as the Executive of the Year.
  • Gary Weitman, Senior Vice President, Corporate Relations for the Tribune Company was named the Public Relations Professional of the Year.
  • Heather Ribeiro, Senior Account Executive, for Zeno Group, received the Young Professional of the Year award.

In addition, the winners of the PRSA Young Professionals Skylines Galas Career Contributions Award were Erica Hughes (ConAgra) and Taylor Trovillion (Edelman). Each young woman was recognized for their dedication to the chapter’s Young Professionals Network. In its inaugural year, the program recognizes the efforts of young Chicagoland public relations professionals on a monthly basis by awarding them PRSA networking opportunities.

“The Skylines are a testament to the high caliber of work being created in the Chicagoland area,” said Abby Lovett, PRSA Chicago board president and Vice President, Group Manager at Ketchum. “Last night was an incredible opportunity to be inspired not only by winning work, but also by honored industry leaders and the hundreds of hard-working PR pros in attendance.”

The 2013 PRSA Chicago Skyline Awards Gala was presented by Synaptic Digital, and honored work representing multiple agencies, clients and industry verticals.
