Our Panelists are:

–Danya Proud, Director of Media Relations at McDonalds USA, with nearly ten years in the McDonalds system.

Danya serves as a spokesperson for McDonald’s USA with national and local media as well as other external audiences. She works across all facets of McDonald’s U.S. business both at the U.S. Headquarters as well as with regional marketing teams, franchisees, suppliers and PR agencies to proactively tell the McDonald’s story and help diffuse and deflect negative media coverage and brand impacting issues. Danya has extensive local, national and international media and public relations, crisis and issues management experience.

–Antonio Hernandez, Corporate Communications Executive at Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), with 20 years of domestic and international strategic communications experience.

Antonio Hernandez leads corporate internal communications for Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd), a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation. In addition, Hernandez manages executive communications, as well as national and regional media relations for ComEd. Prior to this role, Hernandez served as director of global HR communications for Abbott Laboratories and held several roes with McDonald’s Corporation.

–Rachel Gerds, Communications Manager at Harris Bank, leading all its internal and external communications and public relations efforts.

Rachel Gerds serves as Communications Manager for Harris Bank, a Chicago-based integrated financial services organization that operates primarily in the Midwest and provides banking, lending, investing and wealth management products and services to nearly 1.3 million personal, commercial and private banking clients. Her responsibilities include leading all internal and external communications and public relations efforts for Harris’ retail bank with more than $40 billion in assets and nearly 6,000 employees. She is also accountable for all communications supporting the bank’s Community Affairs, Economic Development, Human Resources, and Marketing departments.
